Semana Santa in Seville
Semana Santa (Easter week) in Seville is famous for it's many religous processions (56 in the course of one week). Each processionn comprises two or three 'Passas', ie. platforms with religious motives,  carried on the heads og up to 60 so called 'Costelleros'. The Pasas are followed by many hundred Nazareas carrying crosses and candels and several orchestras (brass, pipes and drums). The processions may take up to 14 hours, and passing one location of the route couild take as much as one hour.

Bullfight in Seville
Bullfights is an integrated part of Andalusian culture and folklore. The tradition goes way back to antiquity, even if the present form is a newer adaption. Most people have an opinion and  and we would never have gone if it wasn't because we were invited by local friends. Having experienced the spectacle 'live' it is scary to admit  that it was an almost strangely fascinating experience. Weather one is able to abstract from more modern views af animal treatment is another matter and btw. we don't pay to visit slaughterhouses (if one is at all allowed to visit). And btw. the video below was removed from YouTube as it 'Violated their terms of service'.

Orangerie at the Mezquita, Cordoba
It doesn't really matter weather it's Alcazar in Seville, Alhambra in Granada, the Mezquita in Cordoba or the lesser known Alcazaba in Almería, they are all worth while a visit. Particularly fascinating is the elaborate use of water: small channels, reflecting pools, water meters or fountains. To walk around under the shadow of the orange trees, watching the flowers and listen to the rippling is just stunning.
