Bohuslän (län=county) is the landscape between Gothenburg (Göteborg) and the Norwegian border. Until 1658 it was a part of the then Danish-Norwegian double-monarchy but seceded to Sweden after the peace at Roskilde. From the yachtsman's point of view it is the perfect cruising ground. There are hundreds of small islands and scerries, a multitude of secluded and protected natural harbours and small picturesque towns. It does embitter the joy though, that the area is seriously overcrowded from midsummer (i.e. 21th of June) and until early August. Weather permitting the area may be reached from Copenhagen in less than 24 hours and we have been there five times but hope yet to return, as there are still many places to explore. We have visited the area numerous times (ie. also on our way back from southern Norway in eg. 2001) and you can se more pictures from our visits in 1995 and 1996 (link).
