The system of fjords behind Stavanger stretches inland for more than 50 nm. It’s a world of its own with small islands, perfect anchorages, deep (often more than 100 meters) fjords and high mountains. Unfortunately the weather is generally (but not always) quite rainy, but when the sun comes out it’s an unbeatable cruising ground. We have visited the area with Tusindfryd in 1992 (pictures from the 92 cruise) and in 2002 we sailed for one glorious sunny prolonged Ascension day week-end with our Norwegian friends Thomas and Ågot Mona in their Nicholson 35 North Wind.
