Human towers (Castillas) is a Catalan speciality and on of the many expressions of Catalan identity thus an important part af Catalan nationalism that we encountered everywhere. Castillas are 'build' with 1- 4 persons in each of the upper layers (maximum is said to be 8) and the foundation is a true human sea which in an intricate way support the upper layers. Building Castells is a competitive sport transmitted in TV but we were lucky to experience it first hand in Tarragona.
