Bow thruster

Due to budget constraints we decided not to order the bow-thruster recommended by Northshore. We did though order the necessary 120 mm2 cables to be drawn from the batteries to the fore peak.  Due to an error however, Northshore also made the necessary tunnel (no charge). Unfortunately the standard bow-thruster is a Vetus 4Hp (150 mm tunnel); in our opinion this is to small (it must be powerful enough to be efficient even under gale conditions).
How we had the (erroneously installed) tunnel removed and a larger whole drilled in one operation, and how the final result became, after installing a new 185 mm tunnel and a 6Hp Lewmar thruster, may be seen in the series of pictures below.
