More about us

Both of us professional geographers. In his professional life Sten worked as assocate professor at The University of Copenhagen and Rosemarie as project manager within various planning projects. Both of us now (since 2010) retired. Yachting har been a passion we have developed together (since 1972) and which has become a life long love affair.

Several times during our sailing life I have we been writing small articles that has been published in the Annual Bulletin of The Nicholson 32 Association, in the news bulletins of our local sailing club (Bidevind / Brisen), in the Southerly Association Bulletin as well as in the commercial Danish Yachting Magazines 'Bådmagasinet' (Boating Magazine) and ‘Bådnyt’ (Boating News), the latter, in it's 2006 June issue, had a feature on us and our passion. You will find relevant links at appropriate places on our webpage, and below is a commented list on articles written in English (full list on the Danish language pages):

A Voyage to the Eastern Swedish Archipelago (1987, pdf)
An account from 1987 where for the first time we visited Stockholm sailing there via the island of
Gotland. The article was published in the annual bulletin of the Nicholson 32 association and we were awarded The Sea wolf Trophy for best long cruise of the year.

Tracing Racundra (1994, pdf)
An account of our 1994 cruise from Copenhagen to Estonia and Latvia.  In those days - just a few years after the Baltic states had regained their independence - few sailors had visited the area since the famous English journalist and writer Arthur Ransome, who cruised the area back in the early 1930’s and wrote his amongst sailors well known book Racundras First Cruise. The account was awarded the 'Hamble Cup' for ’Most Enterprising Cruise’ of the year (amongst the Nicholson 32 sailors of course) and we received a wonderful silver goblet, now having our names engraved together with the famous sailor (and author) Clare Francis (who won it by participating in a ’two-hand’ transatlantic race) no comparison of course.
